Open Blocked Torrent Sites

With the government up against the torrent site in a bid to stop piracy, all the popular BitTorrent sites (thepiratebay.org, kat.ph) have been blocked. (I don't understand what these people are upto, can't they solve the more pressing issues like poverty, education and high petrol costs first??)

But the hacker and pirate communities have always been a step ahead of the government, and here are 3 ways to access the blocked torrent sites.

1) Alternate link to ThePirateBay
ThePirateBay already got itself a new proxy which hasn't been blocked yet. So people can easily access the site at :
https://tpb.pirateparty.org.uk/

2) Use Secure Connections (suggested by user MasterCzar)

HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is a combination of  the normally used HyperText Tranfer Protocol (HTTP) and SSL/TLS protocol. It is an encrypted connection which can protect against eavesdropping and tampering with the contents of the site or the information you send to the site.

All you have to do is type https:\\  before the site you want to open.
So the link would be like:

3) Proxies
A proxy is basically a server that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. So whatever information we access via a proxy is first accessed by the proxy and then forwarded to the client via the proxy.

There are several web-proxies which can easily be opened in the web browser itself without the need of installing any software or any kind of registration with my favorite being HideMyAss.com (Yeah, you read it right)
Just open up HideMyAss.com in your browser, and enter the site you wish to open in the text box provided, and voila! the site is opened.

This is also quite useful for opening sites like Youtube, Facebook in places where they have been blocked.

A complete list of the proxies can also be looked up at Proxy.org

The government needs to realize that blocking these sites won't stop piracy and it first needs to address the basic problems of the country and then go after the pirates.

A note to the people : Always buy stuff that you like and use frequently, because someone has put their heart and soul to make it. Cheers! :)
