Google steps into the tab world - The nexus 7

So finally after all the rumours and leaks ( imaginary and real ). Hugo Barra revealed the first google tablet the NEXUS 7

With the new tab comes the new version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, As the name suggests, the device has a 7-inch screen, with a resolution of 1280x800, and will be powered by the Nvidia Tegra 3 processor with its 12-core GPU, coupled with 1GB RAM. The front of the device has a layer of Corning FIT glass, while the display itself features Asus "TruVivid" technology. The display is an IPS display with 178-degree viewing angle. It has a 1.2MP front facing camera and boasts of 3G/4G connectivity along with NFC. The device weighs 340gms and houses a 4325mAh battery. Google claims that the device will last for up to 9 hours of video playback and 300 hours of standby time.

The Jelly Bean doesnt have a new appearance so to say but it does come with some really good updates and tweaks . Google has made sure that it is not competing with the likes of Ipad and Galaxy Tab . But given its price that is about 200 USD it will surely extinguish The Kindle Fire

YOUTUBE has been completely redesigned for the tablet. Google Maps too has been optimized with new information overlays giving you more out of the maps app. The information provided includes traffic details, train information and some news. Google also showed off the gaming capabilities of the device by unveiling Horn, a good-looking 3D game, and Madfinger's zombie shooter Dead Trigger. This is the first tablet

Ofcourse The NEXUS cant compete with Ipad and comparing it to the Ipad wont make sense at all, google rather targeting its rivals has done taken a smarter step that is targeting the mid ranged consumer market , cheaper than the Ipad yes it does sacrifice on the screen but the Nexus being the first of its kind i.e a 7 inch tablet with a quad core so at the end this tablet could make or break for google as the likes of Kindle Fire and the Micromax Funbook are also available in the same range though the Funbook really doesnt match up to the NEXUS 7 by a long shot, but the fact that we still dont know the approx price that google shall ship to  the Asian countries is a bit of a mystery in it self.

The Nexus 7 tablet is priced at $199 (Rs. 11,339 approx.) for the 8GB variant and $249 (Rs. 14,188) for the 16GB variant. The device can be preordered today( Google Play Store) and will ship in mid July in the US. No official India launch date or price has been announced. With the Kindle Fire really not that useful for citizens other than Americans ,this shall surely take over kindle fire in the asian market that is.

Heres the first video of  the NEXUS- 7

  1. Deleting comments, seriously?
Repeating, almost entirely copied (maybe a little less than some of your other ones, hm?), badly written original paragraph. Not quite receptive to criticism either.
Seriously, I've only met one of you at a tech-fest, and I've no interest in this project whatoever, but removing criticism is not the way to go.
